We are seeking a Structural Engineer (Buildings) to join our Arlington, VA office as part of Jacobs’ Federal & Environmental Solutions business group. Collaborating with our diverse team of architects and engineers, you’ll design structural systems for a variety of building types including airports, government facilities, mission critical facilities, laboratories, and large-scale manufacturing facilities. You’ll be accountable for schedule, scope, budget, and technical quality of engineering tasks and construction documents. You’ll lead teams through the design process and actively mentor junior staff.

Here’s what you’ll need :

Here is what you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural emphasis 

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license 

  • 5 years of relevant buildings-related structural design experience

  • Proficiency with structural design and analysis software (e.g., ETABS, RISA, RAM)

  • Thorough knowledge of building codes and standards (e.g., IBC, ASCE)

  • Desire to take independent initiative and ownership of work, and an eagerness to learn

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • United States Citizenship

  • Active United States Top Secret Security Clearance or higher

Ideally, you’ll also have:

  • Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural emphasis 

  • Structural Engineer (SE) license

  • Experience with Revit
