We are looking for a driven Cost Control expert to manage and control project costs, forecasting, and reporting on all cost-related aspects of energy and power projects on site. This role involves close collaboration with project managers, site teams, and other stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered within budgetary constraints while maintaining high-quality standards.

General responsibilities include:

  • Monitor and control project costs, including labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and other expenses.

  • Develop and maintain detailed cost reports, forecasts, and budgets for assigned projects.

  • Analyze cost variances and trends, identify potential cost overruns, and recommend corrective actions.

  • Implement cost control measures and strategies to ensure projects stay within approved budgets.

  • Prepare and present comprehensive cost reports, including cash flow projections, earned value analysis, and cost-to-complete estimates.

  • Analyze historical cost data and project trends to identify opportunities for cost optimization and process improvements.

  • Collaborate with project managers and site teams to provide accurate and timely cost information for decision-making.

  • Review and analyze contracts, purchase orders, and change orders for cost implications.

  • Negotiate and manage change orders, claims, and contract variations with clients, vendors, and subcontractors.

  • Provide training and guidance to team members on cost control processes, tools, and best practices.

  • Liaise with project stakeholders, including client representatives, contractors, and suppliers, to ensure alignment on cost management strategies.

Here’s what you’ll need :

About you:

  • Minimum requirements shall be a Professional Engineer (preferably in engineering/construction manager, Finance, or related field) with at least 10 years of experience within the energy and power industry.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.

  • Proficiency in cost control software and tools (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project, Excel).

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and documentation.

  • Knowledge of energy and power project lifecycles, construction methodologies, and industry-specific regulations.

  • Experience in working in Saudi Arabia and in the Middle East is preferred.

  • Ability to analyze all relevant project-related information and communicate project status and major issues in writing or verbally.

  • Proactive communicator who can utilize the wider skills within an organization to provide effective solutions to key client issues at short notice.
