As an Office Engineer for transit facilities construction, you’ll join our collaborative team providing our clients with award- winning planning, engineering, architectural design, construction management, and design-build project delivery. We are looking for a passionate Construction Professional in San Carlos, CA who is driven by collaboration, exceeding expectations, and challenging the status quo. By providing technical support to construction projects within the Zero Emissions Bus Program, you’ll help our teams achieve our client’s objectives.

Based in a field office, and under the direction of the Resident Engineer/Project Manager, you’ll balance multiple tasks each day, assisting with design/construction meetings; preparing, processing and tracking submittals, Requests for Information, Change notices, Requests for Quotations, and payment applications; collecting data and information to create project reports; assisting the resident engineer in responding to change notices, correspondence and presentations. We’ll rely on you to maintain and log construction documents, inspection reports, and safety reports, and to compile data for monthly Owner Pay Application and Margin analysis. You will support the field team through independent critical analysis of submittals and shop drawings, and by expediting material deliveries. The successful candidate will understand the importance of a positive attitude, attention to detail, and timeliness and accuracy of work product.

The base salary range for this position is $68,200 to $89,475. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • B. S. degree in Engineering or a closely related construction field is preferred

  • Strong applied experience with computer applications, and computer software programs such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel.

  • Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative. Ability to communicate with project team staff or others

  • Must have a valid Driver’s License

Ideally, you’ll also have these qualifications:

  • Experience using project management software

  • Experience in the construction and transit industry

  • CMAA Construction Manager In-Training (CMIT) certification, or California Professional Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification
