At the US Army Aberdeen Test Center (ATC) within Aberdeen Proving Ground,Maryland, Jacobs Technology employees, along with our teammate companies Caelum,SOI, eLe, and Trident, ensure the weapons, vehicles, and equipment that the warfighter depends on are safe, effective and reliable.
Independently selects methods, plans and coordinates the details, andcarries work through to its conclusion with minimal guidance. Completed work is reviewed for soundness ofanalysis, the suitability of methods used, and for conformance withorganizational analytical procedures and practices. Provides support for a quality managementsystem to include, but is not limited to: analyzing procedures, flowcharting processes, providing textual backupto flow charts, coordinating documentation where procedures overlap, and communicatingdocumented procedures to affected parties. Possesses initiative to follow tasks through to completion with littlesupervision. Communicates effectivelyand efficiently with individuals at all levels of the organization. Provides support for the development,deployment, and registering a quality management system. Analyzes procedures to determine the existinggap between the requirements of the quality standard and the current status offormal and informal ATC procedures that are followed in the performance ofspecific test operations. Develops flowcharts (process maps) of assigned processes, including sequential actionblocks, decision points, hand-off points, and legend, which result in a graphicdescription of specific processes. Provides textual backup of flow chart to ensure accurate understandingof the process flow. Analyzes flow chartdata to identify overlapping procedures, prepares recommendations andcoordinates for the elimination of non-value added steps, or to validate theneed to retain redundancies. Providessupport in the preparation of documentation that describes specific proceduresto the extent that an apprentice technician will obtain a clear understandingof the task with minimal questions. Communicates the documented procedure to affected parties.
Must possess aBachelor’s Degree in specialization or related discipline and 3 yearsapplicable experience or have 5 to 7 yrs. applicable experience in relateddiscipline; or a Master’s Degree in specialization or related discipline and 1yr. applicable experience. Specializations include: Data, Environmental, Facilities, IndustrialHygiene, Network, Occupational Safety, Program, Public Affairs, Quality,Safety, Security, and Systems Safety. For Data Specialists, at least 24 credithours are desired in mathematics, statistics, scientific fields, scientificprogramming languages (such as FORTRAN or C), technical writing, or computerscience.
Essential Functions Form:
UNUSUAL ORSPECIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION
Responsible forplanning, coordinating, and conducting environmental conservation, restoration,compliance and pollution prevention projects. Requires professional knowledgeof environmental principles, techniques and practices and environmentalprograms and issues. The ability to bend/stoop, squat, crawl, crouch, kneel,reach above shoulder level, push/pull, balance, and climb into or under avehicle is required (up to 50%). Walking a minimum of 50 yards over roughterrain is required (up to 25%). The ability to lift and carry up to 50 poundsis required (up to 25%).
DESCRIPTION OFWORK ENVIRONMENT
Work environmentmay be inside or outside depending on the task. The ability to work in outsidefield conditions that include hot and cold extreme temperatures and otheroutdoor climatic conditions is required (up to 25%). Must be able to work in areas where onlyportable restroom facilities are available (up to 25%). Work environment may be fast-paced andrequire work under pressure to meet deadlines associated with the completion ofa task. Position will require multipletask efforts. Travel may be required periodically for specific task relatedfunctions as well as to obtain training necessary for this position.
EQUIPMENT ANDMACHINES INVOLVED IN WORK TASKS
Analyzes datafrom various sources, such as inspection/evaluation reports, project information,and notices of violations and identifies and recommends the need forimprovements or further study. Prepares portions of written reports anddocumentation regarding assigned projects. The ability to work around movingmachinery/equipment and drive auto equipment, forklifts, and other equipment isrequired.
Attendance iscritical at all times during normal duty hours. Work outside of normal dutyhours, including weekends and holidays, may be required with as little as one-houradvance notice.
Must be able to communicate effectively. Mustbe able to obtain an interim secret security clearance in order to gain accessto required areas, networks and systems within thirty (30) days of date of youroffer letter. Must be able to obtain andretain a secret security clearance. Must be able to provide proof of U.S.citizenship. Must be able to obtain andretain unescorted access to work areas. May be subject to other physicals orexams if required to wear a respirator or are designated by the COR to haveother physicals due to the work area in which you are assigned. May be subject to exposure to noise,radiation, vibration, lead, dusts, acids, and solvents. Must be able to wearpersonal protective equipment as required. Must have a valid driver’s license and personal transportation for thepurpose of moving around the proving ground to accomplish job functions and inorder to operate a rental vehicle if and when travel is required. Must be ableto obtain and maintain a military driver’s license within 30 days of employment
