Be part of a world class rail project in the UAE and make a major contribution to an iconic project. Make a difference, support a world class commercial function supporting our client in managing multi-billion $ construction contracts and delivering critical technical and commercial consulting service for the UAE freight and passenger railway network. The railway will redefine logistics and transport in the region, providing a modern, safe, efficient, and sustainable network which will connect the seven emirates of the UAE to its neighbouring GCC countries.

As Construction Director, you'll take ownership for construction delivery and oversee construction management on a key part of the railway network, assuring the highest safety standards, ensuring industry leading quality assurance, and collaborating with project controls, contract administration and cost management functions to ensure the project is on budget and on schedule. You'll need a flair for collaboration and forming robust relationships to ensure successful interfaces with other construction teams for other sections of the railways, and integration with our rail systems, freight facilities and rolling stock teams.

Building a strong working relationship with the client and design & build contractor’s senior leadership team is critical to delivering the project, you're going to put your experience to the test on this challenging and nation building project.

In addition to leading and developing a large team of 50+ staff on site, you'll be using your delivery expertise and problem-solving skills to address issues that could impact project schedule and cost. You'll be exercising your professional judgement in reviewing budgets and contracts as well as coordinating the schedules of subcontractors whilst regularly reporting and presenting to the client on actual versus planned progress ensuring that you're bringing solutions to the table whenever challenges appear.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

As a successful candidate you will have a bachelor’s degree (or higher) in an engineering discipline with more than 15 years post qualification experience. You'll bring a diverse range of experience having worked on complex mega projects ($multi-billion + projects) and have strong working knowledge of major rail, transit, transportation and other heavy civils projects.

You'll need strong communication and presentation skills to address senior leaders and executives to communicate effectively to the client and other stakeholders and you'll have demonstrable experience of leading and inspiring large supervision teams remotely and on site.
