Your Impact:

Our team is looking for an experienced and collaborative Construction Project Manager focused on Job Order Contracting (JOC) to lead, manage, and administer JOC projects. Supporting our client’s Design & Construction group (D&C), this program supports various construction trades with specific geographic territories throughout New York State.

As the Project Manager, you’ll manage complex procurements of job orders and supplemental job orders for construction projects ensuring it is consistent with governing law, procurement policies and guidelines. You’ll manage all aspects of the program including work assignments to trade contractors, contract expiration dates, encumbered funds, and available contract funds. Working alongside management, staff, clients, and contractors, you’ll manage the full cycle of JOC contract solicitations from identification of contractors needed by trade and region through the Recommendation of Award process. You’ll coordinate with stakeholders in identifying and resolving challenges encountered in connection with JOC Procurements.

Working alongside the D&C team, you’ll assess and evaluate workload, availability of contractors, and work performance. You’ll schedule and manage project meetings; develop, prepare, and maintain project records and reports in various applications and databases. Your expert knowledge in job order contracting procedures, procurement policy and guidelines, and development in public procurement while remaining compliant is imperative. Your demonstrated ability to lead, manage, and take initiative while exercising your strong interpersonal abilities to maintain positive working relationships is key to the success of this program.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor of Science in an Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management

  • 8+ years of related construction project management experience with large public or private building projects

  • Ability to interpret contract documents such as specifications, drawings, and blue prints

  • Experience in Job Order Contracting

  • Proficiency in PC applications, including Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ideally, You’ll Also Have:

  • Proficiency in eGordian

Essential Functions:

This position requires approximately 20% travel within New York State that may include overnight stays. Requires exposure to weather and temperature extremes, loud noises, heights (climbing ladders, scaffolding, etc.) and other work-safety hazards (chemicals, fumes, etc. of a construction site. May require time-pressured decision-making. Must be available to occasionally work a modified work schedule or extended workday hours.
