Your Impact:

As a Control Systems Intern you will be working alongside a small team delivering industrial automation solutions to municipal clients in the Northern Virginia area. This position is targeting individuals looking to gain experience with the technical side of engineering project delivery. You will be helping with the development and review of design/construction documents from all stages of a project, gaining hands on experience in industrial automation and the commissioning process. The project site is in Lorton, VA.

Roles/Main Tasks:

  • Reviewing electrical drawings and circuits for electrical gear, motors, drives, and modulating valves.

  • Reviewing electrical drawings for plant communications networks and industrial control panels.

  • Assisting with the development of control strategies for process automation.

  • Navigating and collecting data from Plant Operator Interfaces (HMI) Screens.

  • Assisting in workflow of industrial systems commissioning, including

  • Development of system input/output listings.

  • Development of system controls test procedures.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • Working towards degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.

  • Strong written and verbal communications.

  • Ability to work within a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word & Excel).

  • Ability to travel to project site at least 3 days a week with opportunities for remote work 2 days per week.
