We are looking for a Manager of Projects to support our Defense Contracting Business. You will be responsible for leadership and development of existing and defense contracting relationships (Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, General Dynamics, Northrop Grumman, Newport News Shipbuilding, BAE, etc.). In addition, you will be responsible for delivery of professional and technical services on time within budget and to agreed performance criteria, by providing effective, skilled project management to add value to the business. You will also mentors and support the development of Project Managers and other staff to grow and develop into more senior roles.
You will work closely with the Defense Contractor Operations Director and other Defense Contractor MOPs and PMs. You will help to lead project teams in the development of project plans to accomplish project commitments. You will also work with our operations staff and with CAMs to develop business growth, project execution, and client service strategies.
You will need to be able to support proposal and pricing preparation, and effectively represent Jacobs in the market through engagement in professional organizations, industry forums/events, etc. You need to be able to forecast current and future expected workloads, manage large and often multiple projects, and participates in corporate initiatives to assist in meeting the company's goals.
This role may be performed remotely from any US location.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Work includes the full range of planning, design, and construction including office fit out, renovations and advanced commercial manufacturing. Knowledge of design/build projects is a plus. Assesses project requirements, while developing and recommending a sound approach or application to meet the needs of the project and client.
Facilitates the creation of communication plans, ensuring that appropriate information is exchanged among key stakeholders, and conducts status review meetings among project team members and clients.
Manages and enhances project quality by providing ideas and suggestions to the team aimed at improving the effectiveness of their role, and of the project activities in general.
Determines, monitors and reviews costs, operational budgets, schedules and staffing requirements for project teams. Mentors and trains vendors, subcontractors and team members in project management methods, procedures and activities.

Here’s What You’ll Need:
Bachelors degree in Engineering, Architecture or Construction Management
Professional registration (PE or RA)
Contract management, project delivery methods, team and client relationship building experience
At least 15 years of experience, including project management and leadership roles in government and defense operations
United States Citizenship
Travel is required to visit client and operations locations where we operate
Ideally, You’ll Also Have:
Masters’ degree in Engineering, Architecture or Construction Management
Commercial Manufacturing experience
Defense contractor experience
Knowledge of Foreign Military Sales or Direct Commercial Sales
International operational experience
Program /Project Manager role an Engineering or Construction related organization
