Jacobs Design-Build Leader | Federal Buildings in Arlington, Virginia

At Jacobs, we challenge what is currently accepted so we can shape innovative and lasting solutions for tomorrow. If you’re interested in a long and rewarding career working with the industry’s best and most innovative engineers, then Jacobs is where you belong. We are looking for a highly motivated, client-focused Design-Build Project Manager to grow with our team in a hybrid capacity around the Arlington, VA office.

You’ll have the chance to work on large capital projects across the US. These exciting and engaging large-scale building projects will utilize your Design-Build expertise to help ensure safe and efficient delivery. You’ll work with the best engineers, construction managers, and contractors in the business. You will also gain experience working closely with technical subject matter experts, project control specialists, and some of the best digital delivery professionals in the industry. We empower you to deliver the best and boldest solutions to our clients.

You will be responsible for the full lifecycle management of a project: overseeing planning and design development; procurement and management of subcontractors and general contractors; overseeing construction, commissioning, and closeout; managing and tracking project budgets and schedules; and ensuring final acceptance and turnover of projects to clients.

Your role will be central to project scope development, budgeting and cost estimating, subcontractor procurement, schedule development and control, and coordinating contractors throughout the planning, design, construction, commissioning, and closeout stages. Your involvement during pre-construction will utilize your diverse experience working with our design and cost estimating professionals, negotiating contracts, assessing/mitigating risks, and maintaining communications across multiple project stakeholders. During construction, your critical thinking will be applied to leverage the skills of our technical and construction specialists to resolve problems surfacing in the field. Your leadership during construction will include resourcing and team supervision, facilitating weekly construction coordination meetings, managing change orders, presenting to clients, and driving the team’s actions toward minimizing risks and resolving construction issues.

Guiding the project team is what you do best. Serving as Jacobs’ primary Design-Build Project Management representative for our clients’ projects, your responsibilities cross all aspects of project execution and delivery. You bring a solid technical skill set, a commitment to delivering high-quality work products, and pride of ownership in offering the best services to our clients.

Bring your curiosity, passion for innovation, and talent for multitasking in a fast-paced environment. We’ll help you grow, pursue, and fulfill what inspires you—so we can make big impacts on the world together.
