At Jacobs our Mechanical Engineers provide a range of skills as part of an integrated building services design. The engineer will be responsible for providing system design: calculations and other related design services including coordination with the designs of other trades (architectural and engineering / internal and external) under the guidance of more senior technical staff. The Engineer will take ownership of the completeness, accuracy and timeliness of the work assigned to you. Individuals in this position must demonstrate the ability to progress from basic design work assignments to more complicated and involved projects working in conjunction with a technical team.
Performing all aspects of control system engineering and design, including preparation of construction documents, detail drawings, cable distribution risers, and specifications for control systems for commercial and government buildings.
Perform site surveys of existing control systems and meet with building managers and engineers for renovation designs.
Review shop drawings and product submittals for control systems.
Work under minimal supervision, work is reviewed for adequacy on completion.
May provide some technical guidance to less experienced design and engineering personnel.
Maintain effective communication with project team members as well as the customer.
Minimum 4-7 years of related controls experience, specifically Automatic Temperature Controls for HVAC, Building Management Systems, and Open Protocol Systems such as BACnet and LonWorks required
BS or MS in an engineering discipline required
AutoCAD and Revit experience required
US Citizenship required
Ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance required
PE registration preferred
Knowledge of Ethernet communications networks for control systems preferred
