Must be able to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally. Ability to work in fast paced environment where multiple tasks need to be performed over a short period of time. Must be organized and able to lead clients through complex task management issues. Requires understanding of engineering processes and transit best practices. Work on complex client tasks related to transit vehicle rolling stock, support systems and asset management.
Provide task support for vehicle engineering with contracts and tasks associated with the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority. Primary support is expected to be in Washington D.C. area; however, some similar work for other transit agencies is expected and may occasionally require travel.
Qualified individual will possess proven background associated with mechanical engineering.
Experience preferred with public transit vehicles, vehicle engineering related to bus, commuter bus, new and overhaul, state of good repair initiatives, value engineering studies, systems, safety, engineering, and procurements.
Achieves operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; determining system improvements; implementing change.
Enhances Jacobs reputation by accepting ownership of work and accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Communicates with client stakeholders to align on plan and expectations. Works with internal teams to execute on plan.
Updates job knowledge by participating in training opportunities; identifying strengths and weakness in team and making appropriate changes.
Ability to work effectively with others: Subcontractors, vendors, client staff, and internal Jacobs staff.
Bachelor’s degree required
Preferred professional transit project experience
Experience with Maryland Transit Administration desired
