Jacobs is currently seeking a Privacy Specialist to provide onsite support in Arlington,VA. (Metro Accessible). Duties will include:
Research and identify relevant data privacy and information security practices associated with complex business processes; assist with creation of corrective recommendations and actions;
Assist in the development of multiple assessment reports;
Review and edit draft correspondence and memoranda;
Support the development and completion of Privacy Threshold Analyses (PTAs) and Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs);
Assist with the creation, update, and editing of privacy-related directives, policies and guidance;
Assist with incident response and mitigation strategies as necessary;
Maintain productive professional relationship with the client’s IT security and privacy staff, business process owners, and other divisional staff.
Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail
Be a team player, and have a desire to learn more about information privacy and security
US Citizen – Must be able to obtain Public Trust Clearance
BA or BS degree in the appropriate discipline from an accredited college or university, plus three (3) to five (5) years of appropriate and progressive experience; additional relevant education may be substituted for progressive experience.
Minimum 4-6 years of general experience in reviewing, auditing, and risk-based assessment of systems and business processes for privacy and/or information security related issues;
Minimum 2-4 years of specialized experience working in Privacy
Certificates such as the IAPP CIPP or CIPP/G may be considered equivalent to two (2) years of general experience and two (2) years of privacy experience.
Working knowledge of MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), MS Visio, and MS Project;
Exposure to or knowledge of the Privacy Act of 1974, E-Government Act of 2002 privacy provisions, OMB Circular A-130, and other privacy-related OMB memoranda;
Experience in or demonstrable interest in data privacy issues in federal government environment;
CIPP/G, CIPT or CIPM (strongly desired);
CISA, CIA, or CISSP (a plus).
General Office environment - The work environment is fast-paced and sometimes involves extreme deadline pressures. The nature of the work requires a high degree of teamwork and cooperation with other members of the staff as well as individuals across the Company and Customers.
Most work will be done at a desk or computer. Must be able to lift 20 lbs.
Equipment and Machines
General office equipment including PC/laptop, Fax, Copiers, Shredder, Printers, Telephone, and other miscellaneous office equipment.
Attendance is critical at all times. Needs to be available to work overtime during critical peaks and be available to meet last minute requests for overtime should the situation occur.
