Position Summary

Reporting to the Jacobs Project Manager, the Project Engineer will provide technical, administrative and management support for building construction projects with emphasis on space planning, space inventory reporting and move management.

The work location for this position is NW Washington, DC.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists management in identification and resolution of immediate and future space needs.

  • Researches and compiles data for various reports; assists in the preparation of comprehensive, highly technical, or complex reports and analyses.

  • Makes recommendations and develops large and small-scale space planning scenarios to fulfill short and long-term University requirements.

  • Prepares architectural, furniture, and space allocation drawings using computer aided design and drafting (CADD) tools.

  • Coordinates and oversees office and facilities moves and space relocation activities.

  • Maintains verifies and updates space inventory information; assimilates information or data from new construction, renovations, and various remodeling into master computerized or automated system files.

  • Manages master CAD files to ensure accuracy and consistency.

  • Assigns or classifies space according to pertinent standards and procedures.

  • Monitors project schedules and budgets

  • Prepares agendas, prepare and distribute meeting minutes.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Architecture, Environmental Design or Interiors

  • Minimum 3 years of design experience with emphasis on space planning

  • Proficiency using AutoCAD and MS Office tools.
