Jacobs is seeking a Security Engineer for the Arlington, VAoffice. Duties will include:

  • Provides full life-cycle IT Engineering,including: Product Evaluations, Product Deployment, Configuration andMaintenance, and Total Support of a Security Data Center environment

  • Designs and deploys data center core products(Windows and Linux servers, VMware ESXi, Active Directory, databases, switches,routers, and, storage)

  • Develops and documents new Architectures,Implementations and Operations and Maintenance procedures

  • Coordinates with other engineers andorganizations, assists the user community, communicates with vendors, andadapts to a technically challenging environment

  • Engineer, install, configure, and administerthe following:

  • Microsoft Active Directory

  • Microsoft Suite of Server based Products

  • Cisco equipment

  • Storage (SAN) equipment

  • Fiber Channel Technologies

Qualifications

  • US Citizen– Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance

  • Bachelorof Science degree in Information Technology, IT Security, Network SystemsTechnology or related field or equivalent experience plus five (5) to seven (7)years of directly related experience or any equivalent combination ofeducation, experience, training and certifications.

  • Certificates such as Microsoft’s MCSE, may be considered equivalent to two (2) years of general experience and two (2) years of information technology experience. The CISSP certificate may be considered equivalent to two (2) years of information security experience.

  • Minimum Qualifications:

o5 yrs. experience performing some or all of the areas listed as responsibilities

  • Windows/ Unix / Network systems administration experience

  • Solid experience with one or more of: WindowsServer Operating systems, VMware ESXi Hypervisior; VDI implementations; Linuxbased Operating systems.

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills,with the ability to ‘think outside of the box’

  • Self-starter, self-motivated

  • Ability to work in a team environment

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skillsto interact with client, customers, team members and product support personnel

  • Professionalwriting and verbal communication skills

  • Desired Qualifications:

  • Someprogramming and/or scripting language experience

  • Infrastructurerelated certifications (i.e. Microsoft, Cisco, VMware; AWS)

  • SecurityCertifications (i.e. Security , CISSP)

  • Knowledgeof ITIL Framework and best practices

  • Bachelor’sdegree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Security

  • Configurationdesign, Installation & maintenance of the above in a data center

  • Networkconfigurations including Storage and Fiber Channel networking

  • Concreteunderstanding / experience with network protocols

  • Experiencein the support Microsoft back office products – AD; SCCM; SQL; – alternativelya large ESX infrastructure

  • Experiencemanaging and monitoring large number of computer systems – primarily serversand equipment found in a DC

  • DataCenter Security and Computer System Security best practices

  • Systemarchitecture documentation

  • Documentationof Requirements

  • Experiencewith product selection

  • Installation/DeploymentProcedures

  • TestPlans

  • Visio(or some diagram tool) experience

Essential Functions

Problem Solving:

  • Must be able to troubleshoot issues and perform root cause analysis

  • Must be able to identify new problems and be resourceful in finding their solutions

  • Must be a self-starter: able to take a task, run with it, and deliver results

  • Physical Requirements:

  • Most work will be done at a desk or computer.

Work Environment:

  • General Office environment: The work environment is fast-paced and sometimes involves extreme deadline pressures. The nature of the work requires a high degree of teamwork and cooperation with other members of the staff as well as individuals across the Company and Customers.

Equipment & Machines:

  • General office equipment including PC/laptop, Fax, Copiers, Shredder, Printers, Telephone, and other miscellaneous office equipment.

Attendance:

  • Attendance is critical at all times. Must be able to work a 40-hour workweek, normally Monday through Friday.

  • However, times and days may vary depending on business requirements.

  • Needs to be available to work overtime during critical peaks and be available to meet last minute requests for overtime should the situation occur.

  • No Remote support is offered at this time.
