Jacobs Systems Engineer Project Manager- TS Required in Arlington, Virginia

Your Impact:

Jacobs is seeking a Systems Engineering Project Manager to join our team supporting our customer in the National Capital Region. You’ll be a part of a team that helps shapes the strategic future for our clients and define the strategy to get them there. This position requires an active DoD TS security clearance with SCI eligibility that has been adjudicated in the last 5 years or in designated CE status and the ability to obtain and maintain special accesses.

Responsibilities:

  • You will directly support the customer leading or supporting various projects and initiatives. Projects typically include technology, operational and policy aspects related to current systems, future concepts, capabilities and processes. Work requires effectively managing independent tasks to meet deliverable expectations and proactive engagement with organizational stakeholders and external mission partners to achieve overall mission success.

  • Use problem solving skills and experience to analyze, evaluate, and recommend solutions to meet future systems capability requirements.

  • Lead complex projects from requirements development through design and acquisition, culminating in stakeholder operational test and acceptance.

  • Apply technical expertise to make recommendations and support integration of fixes, modifications, enhancements, new systems, and new capabilities into existing operations.

  • Develop system requirements, model use cases, produce conceptual designs, develop technology integration strategies, and design systems architectures.

  • Participate as expert advisor to customer in various working groups, review meetings and technical exchanges with vendors and mission partners.

  • Provides technical review and input to policies, directives, plans, and CONOPS.

  • Develops and presents technical papers and presentations to convey project status, objectives, and strategic milestones to senior officials; identify and quantify risks that would affect the quality, timeliness, and cost of project services and deliverables; recommend risk avoidance and mitigation plans.

  • Advise the customer on the development of technical approaches to solving integration and interoperability related problems.

  • Author well researched quality document packages, briefing slides, coordinate and track correspondence, formulate Courses of Action (COA’s) and draft recommendations for customer and senior decision makers that will may have broad organizational or interagency impact.

  • Participate in activities to ensure knowledge creation/sharing and integration within and across the work program as appropriate.

  • MS degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Telecommunications, Management, or related discipline with a minimum of (15) years of relevant work experience or 20+ years of progressive relevant work experience gained in related industry, federal or military career field.

  • 10 years’ programmatic, policy or operational experience within the DoD community

  • Active DoD TS security clearance with SCI eligibility that has been adjudicated in the last 5 years or in designated CE status and the ability to obtain and maintain special accesses.

  • Position requires advanced writing and speaking/presentation skills, exceptional organizational and prioritization skills.

  • Experience in a cross functional team developing policy, operational concepts and doctrine, process development.

Preferred:

  • Professional management or project management certifications

  • 15+ years’ programmatic, policy or operational experience within the DoD community
