Jacobs Technical Writer TS/SCI Required in Arlington, Virginia
Jacobs is seeking a Technical Writer to join our dynamic team supporting our customer Arlington, VA. In this position you’ll work closely with content owners to create and maintain documentation in support of our client’s programs. This position requires an active DoD TS/SCI security clearance that has been adjudicated in the last 5 years and the ability to obtain and maintain special accesses.
Duties/Tasks and Responsibilities:
Work on all phases of documentation to ensure technical documentation is accurate, complete, meets editorial and government specifications (as required) and adheres to standards for quality, graphics, coverage, format, and style.
Interact with content developers, technical experts, and subject matter experts to produce quality documentation and training materials .
Effectively manage documentation to meet client document configuration requirements as well as delivery schedules.
Assist in document reviews to include editing and proofing of content, grammatics, formatting, and production or presentation of such products.
Review and edit government policy documents for grammar, format, and clarity prior to approval.
Develop and maintain Standard Operation Procedures (SOP), and other tool-related user guides/ manuals on technical edit work-flow, processes and procedures.
Consolidate technical inputs and analyses documents for delivery and produce a logical, understandable document.
Maintain current SharePoint documentation libraries across multiple networks and improve overall document sustainment work-flow and processes.
Maintain proficiency in MS Office and other applications used by the client to create documents, graphics or other deliverable products.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
- Provide a writing sample
Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Management, or related field and five (5) to eight (8) years of relevant work experience.
Strong editorial background with exceptional skill in proofreading and creating, implementing, and ensuring adherence to technical style guides.
MS Office skills, Adobe, and SharePoint.
Excellent oral and written communications skills with the ability to work independently and in team settings.
Excellent note-taking skills with the ability to capture discussions, question and answer sessions, and briefs, and create meeting summaries and minutes.
Active DoD TS with SCI eligibility, adjudicated in the last 5 years or designated CE status, and ability to obtain and maintain special accesses.
Experience in proposal writing
SharePoint administrative experience
