Your Impact:

Jacobs is seeking a Technical Writer to join our dynamic team supporting our customer Arlington, VA. In this position you’ll work closely with content strategists, engineering and system testing teams, subject matter experts, and other stakeholders to create and maintain documentation in support of our client’s programs. Examples include policy support, Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs), Concepts of Operation (CONOPS), technical materials, and engineering documents. Successful applicants will also attend ip-person and virtual conferences and meetings, and provide support in the preparation of briefings, presentations, meeting minutes, reports, and other materials. This position requires an Active DoD TS security clearance with SCI eligibility and ability to obtain and maintain special accesses. 10-15% travel may be required.

Duties/Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Effectively manage documentation projects to meet customer delivery schedules.

  • Use MS Office applications to analyze inputs and compare to requirements, calculate scores, validate results, and produce reports that capture and convey the results of the testing & compliance programs.

  • Assist in document reviews, editing and proofing of content, and printing and production of products as needed.

  • Attend meetings and conferences, take notes on topics discussed, and produce meeting summaries or minutes as required.

  • Maintain POC lists and make edits or updates as necessary to ensure prompt coordination with the community of interest.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Management, or related field and five (5) to eight (8) years of relevant work experience.

  • Strong editorial background with exceptional skill in proofreading and creating, implementing, and ensuring adherence to technical style guides.

  • Expert MS Office skills, especially MS Excel, VBA and PowerPoint. Experience with Visio or SharePoint is a strong addition.

  • Excellent oral and written communications skills with the ability to work independently and in team settings.

  • Excellent note-taking skills with the ability to capture discussions, question and answer sessions, and briefs, and create meeting summaries and minutes.

  • Active DoD TS with SCI eligibility, adjudicated in the last 5 years or designated CE status, and ability to obtain and maintain special accesses.

Desired Requirements:

  • Project Management certification or experience

  • Data analytics and/or business intelligence experience

  • SharePoint administrative experience

Physical Requirements:

Most work will be done at a desk or computer.

Work Environment:

General Office environment. The work environment is fast-paced and sometimes involves extreme deadline pressures. The nature of the work requires a high degree of teamwork and cooperation with other members of the staff as well as individuals across the Company and Customers.

Equipment & Machines:

General office equipment including PC/laptop, Fax, Copiers, Shredder, Printers, Telephone, and other miscellaneous office equipment.

Attendance:

Work is in classified facility; attendance is critical at all times. Limited telework may be available for unclassified products coordinated and approved by supervisor. Must be able to work a 40-hour workweek, normally Monday through Friday. However, times and days may vary depending on business requirements. Needs to be available to work overtime during critical peaks and be available to meet last minute requests for overtime should the situation occur.

Must be well-organized with the ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously. Must work well under pressure to meet deadline requirements. Must be willing to travel as needed. Must take and pass a drug test and background check as well as a motor vehicle records check. Must be a US citizen.
