We are searching for an experienced CEI Inspector to join our team in Metro Atlanta. In this role, you will be responsible developing/maintaining relationships with GDOT, and other transportation agencies involved in winning contracts for CEI services in general Metro Area. This is a great opportunity to produce/manage roadway construction projects and assist in growing the CEI team in our Atlanta, GA office.
The successful candidate will:
• Perform independent complex inspections of roadways and structure construction processes and materials to assure compliance with the construction contract.
• Conducting routine and standardized inspections
• Inspect asphalt and concrete for acceptable materials and mix; pavement for proper spreading, rolling, depth, alignment and compaction; roadways and structures for conformance to plans, and specifications; structural materials and members; placement of culverts; structural operations such as foundation excavation; placement of piling, reinforcing and structural steel, concrete and backfill; and traffic control and erosion control devices.
• Perform the more complex variety of calculations and computations.
• Perform contract documentation duties, which includes field measurements of pay items as well as another Department required documentation.
• Help develop and train construction personnel.
• Must have five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in transportation engineering in the construction of highways, bridges and related fields.
• Three (3) years managerial/supervisory experience. (Project leader or lead worker experience will substitute for managerial/supervisory experience.)
• Expensive knowledge in GDOT Roadway and Bridge construction, engineering policies and procedures
Ideally, you’ll also have:
• Construction engineering and management is preferred
