Employee will perform sampling, testing and inspection to verify compliance with construction contract and construction plans.
Employee will perform calculations in the field to generate material testing results.
Employee will be responsible for generating and documenting test reports using computer program.
Employee will be responsible for communicating and explaining test results obtained in the field to construction staff.
Employee will be responsible for maintaining daily reporting of work in progress, status of completion, and discuss related problems with supervisor.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
High School Diploma or GED
Ability to pass written Test within 12 months of hiring for Quality Control Technician Level 1 certification
Ability to physically maneuver a project site and lift/carry/move objects and /or material up to 50lbs
Ability to drive a company vehicle and follow all company related safety guidelines for safely operating the vehicle (Valid Driving License Required)
Ability to use computer and other material testing software required by the department
Ability to act professionally, build and maintain working relationships, be trained, train others and follow directions
Ability to workday shift or night shift depending upon project requirements
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in a dynamic environment
Radiation safety training for the use of Nuclear Density Gauge is required
Perform a variety of on-site quality control tests, inspections, and project-specific observations/evaluations
Monitor and inspect roadway construction to ensure overall compliance regarding plans, safety, and contract requirements
Conduct record-keeping to ensure all necessary observations are documented
Ideally, You’ll Also Have:
Ability to obtain GDOT Roadway Testing Technician (RTT) and Quality Control Technician Level 1 certification
High School Degree or higher education
One year experience in material testing, highway construction, or relevant field experience
