Jacobs is only supporting candidate development activities for this role. This position is for a Joint Venture team and you will be assigned to one of the associated firms.
As a Project Manager, you will manage the Project Team, Project Stakeholders, consultant(s) and contractors as necessary to rehabilitate, enhance and expand the client’s rail and bus transit system. This will include managing activities, operations, and resources necessary to carry out and ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with project documents. In this role, you will enforce contract provisions and resolves budgetary, technical, and scheduling issues.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages all aspects of Project Planning which include development of project management plans to identify stakeholder needs. Investigates and considers alternative approaches and concepts, to ensure development of the most appropriate project solutions.
Manages all aspects of Project Design. Provides overall project management and coordination with architectural/engineering professionals. Coordinates with staff, other agency officials, local governments, and architects/engineers etc. to develop preliminary schedules, procurement project requirements and detailed scope of work estimate by development of the design documents for bid. Manages the development of feasibility and environmental impact studies, preliminary engineering, and conceptual designs for major capital investments. Manages the preparation of project scopes of work, plans, schedules, and budgets.
Manages all aspects of Project Implementation. Manages project procurement of material, equipment, and contractors, and all construction activities necessary to execute capital projects. Manages the quality and safety of work performed on capital projects. Implements change management processes and carry out project communications throughout the organization. Coordinates the acquisition of real estate parcels required for capital projects if necessary.
Performs Project Monitoring & Controlling. For the duration of the project life cycle, manages the preparation of progress reports to monitor and control capital projects. Monitors all aspects of projects assigned. Manages the schedules and budgets to ensure positive project performance. Conducts monthly project status briefs to upper management.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline is required
Ten years of progressively responsible experience in the full project lifecycle of planning, design, contract preparation, procurement, and implementation of large-scale construction or integrated systems capital improvement projects
Comprehensive experience in the preparation, budgeting, negotiation, and administration of contracts with both public and private organizations is desired
Must have detailed understanding of the principles of system safety engineering with ability to perform complex engineering and statistical analysis.
Experience preparing scope statements, estimates, and forecasts is desired. Experience using professional scheduling software and Microsoft Office products is preferred.
