Your Impact:

Our team is looking for an experienced Project Risk Manager in support of the Project Manager to provide Risk Management (RM) related services in the areas of strategy, work plan development, and work plan execution for a mega transportation project located in Atlanta, Georgia. In this role, you will lead RM operations in planning and executing the work activities and resolving complex RM issues while staying on schedule and within budget. As the Project Risk Management Lead, you will have frequent contact with internal and external individuals at all management levels and you will be responsible for RM successful outcomes.

Summary of key responsibilities:

  • Serves as Project Risk Management Lead. Serves the project team, client, and Program Management Consultant (PMC); demonstrates Risk Management (RM) acumen in planning, executing, measuring, and reporting of RM related operations. Leads the identification, communication, measurement, and management of the project risks.

  • Develops a RM project strategy to meet project goals and objectives for the client. Develops and implements expectations, processes, procedures, and best practices related to RM. Collaborates with others to identify, mitigate, and report on project risks. Prepares a 3-, 6-, 9- and 12-month work plan to meet the strategy to include goals and objectives and target due dates; updates the plan per management guidance.

  • Develops RM collateral. Develops RM collateral for the project leadership team, to include presentations, white papers, and spreadsheets to demonstrate the application of RM practices as they relate to client risk. Deliverables meet quality expectations of client and project management team.

  • Initiates and Maintains Project Risk Register. Collaborates with others on the Project Leadership team to identify, assess, log, manage, and report on project risks. Works with others to ensure mitigation plans are in place for the assigned discipline area, and those mitigation plans are being executed to meet client goals and objectives where appropriate. Elevates, follows up and follows through on issues and shortcomings.

  • Establishes Project Contingency. Working with others, establishes the project cost and schedule contingency, based on the project risks identified. Develops project collateral to include graphs and charts to communicate effectively major risk factors and their corresponding risk contingency impact.

  • Problem solves RM issues. Supports the project team in RM related activities, including problem solving.

  • Develops and Delivers RM training to include Work Instructions. Conducts RM training for the project team including subconsultants; maintains training records.

  • Develops and reports on RM metrics. Manages and monitors metrics to ensure favorable project outcomes; provides guidance in areas not meeting expectations.

  • Maintains the project RM site housed on the intranet platform. Maintains the RM collateral on the intranet platform.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in either engineering, business, or management discipline is preferred.

  • 15 years or more of direct experience in road-and-bridge full life-cycle project delivery of complex urban reconstruction projects, preferably with Design Build and P3 delivery experience.

  • Experience as a team member in consultative advisory services and deliverables production in many of the following work streams: procurement, systems planning, traffic analysis, environmental clearance including public involvement, costing plans, design, ITS, and construction; also includes: FHWA Major Project project-management elements of: risk management, schedule management, scope management, and life cycle cost management.
