The Jacobs-led team will serve as MARTA's CPMO Supplemental Services Consultant and manage the construction aspects. A joint venture between Jacobs and H. J. Russell & Company – was selected to support the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) as they embark on their expansion program.

Summary of position:

The Construction Project Coordinator serves as project lead for the Station Rehab/ PLPP/Smart programs. Which will include the development and implementation of special projects, research and/for the programs related to the over strategic priorities and goals of the Division’s Director. Also, the Project Coordinator will oversee the staging, tracking, and reporting of the Division's daily activity, and coordinates this activity with Directors. This position assists with pre-construction and construction building phase, which includes visiting assigned projects daily, getting materials to appropriate locations according to customer requests, specifications or needs. The Project Coordinator also completes several administrative tasks for the Construction Department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with Directors to develop timelines and the project schedule, identify the critical path, and set benchmarks

  • Serves as the project lead in the development and implementation of special planning projects, research and/or studies related to the overall strategic priorities and organizational goals of the Authority.

  • Coordinate and conduct onsite pre-construction meetings as needed

  • Review proposals, purchase orders, and scopes of work then provide feedback to the Directors

  • Develops and implements formal tracking mechanism (i.e/ inventories, databases, etc.) to monitor progress and performance of assigned projects and programs for Station Rehab/PLPP/Smart Programs.

  • Coordinate and schedule inspections determined by supervisors

  • Manage the project budget for assigned projects

  • Coordinate and attend weekly meetings with management

  • Establish and maintain effective, professional business relations with client, customers, and coworkers

  • May perform basic administrative and clerical functions, which may include filing, copying, binding reports, simple typing, etc.

  • Maintain a positive and professional attitude in all correspondence both within and outside the company Perform other duties as assigned

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • 4-5 Years of Construction Experience

  • Familiar with transportation regulations is required

  • High School Diploma or GED required, BA in administration, Public administration, or in related field.

  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills, with an innate focus on customer/client service and a high level of professionalism.

  • Advanced proficiency in the use of software applications, specifically Project Management & Design Software, Microsoft Excel, and Word

  • Ideally, you'll also have:Three years of experience in developing and managing major business projects to include professional experience in project planning, and program management.

  2. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to prioritize and adhere to tight deadlines

  3. Strong attention to detail with a track record for accuracy
