Our People & Places Solutions business – reinforces our drive to improve the lives of people everywhere and epitomizes the "why" of what we do – the tremendous positive impact and value our solutions bring to our communities and society as a whole. From facilities delivering life-saving therapies and ensuring clean water to enabling the connection of people through all modes of transportation and providing access to technology – we're integrating a multitude of these solution elements to build the smart environments of tomorrow.
Start your Jacobs career with a company that inspires and empowers you to deliver your best work so you can evolve, grow and succeed – today and into tomorrow.
Your Impact:
Jacobs’ National Strategic Pursuit Leaders (SPL) serve as senior business leaders in our People and Places Solutions (P&PS) Line of Business (Transportation, Water, Energy and Power, Buildings, and other markets) and support the effective delivery of positioning and proposal/presentation development for our most strategic pursuits and accounts across the Americas.
SPLs integrate with other sales functions, most prominently with our geographic sales leadership including Client Account Managers and Account Strategists, subject matter experts, Operations and client-facing staff, and our Strategic Sales Operations team. As a SPL, you’ll work with this team to maximize companywide service offerings to develop and implement strategic pursuits, uphold our core values and company mission, and leverage established processes.
Your focus will span the pursuit lifecycle with a focus on Middle game positioning and End game deliverables for any type of opportunity being pursued within our P&PS business. You can expect to lead multiple pursuits concurrently depending on sales phase, available resources, and timing. Your clients may be private or public, including local municipalities, special districts, or state-wide entities. You also may be asked to engage in strategic market development in specific locations, or stewardship of regional initiatives. A common thread you can expect is the meaningful nature of these pursuits and related work, the need for strong, insightful leadership, and the need for a collaborative work approach. As part of that collaborative approach, we will ask you to coach and mentor the sales staff you work with so that we raise the sales acumen of our entire organization.
Lean on your advanced knowledge of multiple subject areas or disciplines and integrate your understanding of business/industry trends and regional political landscapes, while providing sound guidance to your team and to the client-focused sales leadership. Ideally, you will be leveraging your industry relationships to identify and negotiate with potential teaming partners, and/or also engage directly with our clients. Apply solutions-based positioning and persuasion strategies; lead challenge teams, Go/No Go decisions and B&P budget development and management; and support CSP data integrity and adoption as you identify and implement strategies to win. Because of the multi-faceted requirements of this role, you will leverage your highly developed written and oral communication capabilities, as well as your finely-honed approach to organization and work management.
Your most impactful mission in this role is to embrace our foundational core value of living inclusion every day and enabling innovative e solutions through diversity of thought, in full alignment with our global TogetherBeyond Inclusion and Diversity strategy. For Jacobs, this means creating a culture of belonging where we all thrive by embracing all perspectives. An inclusive culture with many perspectives through diverse backgrounds allows us to leverage knowledge, leadership and connection to bring forth opportunity, creativity and growth. At Jacobs, we’re partnering across the globe to create the best project outcomes by maximizing the design, digital technology, and support capabilities of our Global Integrated Delivery (GID) teammates. By joining Jacobs, you’ll commit to supporting and engaging with these teams, as we work to build a company like no other.
This is a National role and the successful candidate is required to be located in the United States or Canada.
