Jacobs Water Resources Engineer and Modeler in Atlanta, Georgia

The Georgia Water Resource practice is a growing group within Jacobs that focuses on the following services:

• Ecosystem and Floodplain Restoration

• Green Infrastructure and Civil/Site Engineering Design

• Flood Modeling and Planning

• Stormwater and Watershed Management

• Resilience and Climate Change

• Integrated Water Resources Management

• Regulatory Compliance and Permitting

The practice is currently seeking a mid-level water resources engineer with strong Hydrology and Hydraulic (H&H) modeling experience. The selected candidate will strengthen our current team’s capabilities and will work collaboratively to deliver important project work across the Jacobs enterprise.

Position Summary:

Exciting opportunity to join Jacobs Engineering as an Associate- or Career-Level Water Resources Engineer for the Georgia Water Resources Practice. This role will support an experienced and diverse water resources team and will be a part of our growing water resources business in Georgia and the South Atlantic geography.

• Support project managers, client managers, team leadership, and mentor junior-level staff.

• Support multi-discipline projects and lead tasks such as performing H&H modeling, scenario development, optimization, preparation of H&H reports, permitting documents. Project types may include green infrastructure, stream restoration, dams and levees, stormwater management, potable water and wastewater infrastructure, and transportation.

• Effectively support projects and the project team including engineering disciplines from a variety of geographic office locations.

• Support business development and marketing efforts to help grow the business with both existing and new clients in GA.

• A minimum of 5-10 years of progressive consulting experience on water resources projects is required.

• Bachelor of Science in Civil or Environmental Engineering or Environmental Sciences required; Master of Science in Civil or Environmental Engineering or Environmental Sciences is preferred.

• Professional certification such as EIT or PE license, PWS, or CPESC is required.

• Proficiency with a variety of H&H software, such as, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, PCSWMM, ICM, ICPR, Mike, PondPack, HydroCAD, and OpenFlow, is required.

• Proficiency with design software, such as, AutoCAD Civil 3D and Bentley MicroStation, is preferred.

• Proficiency with mapping software, such as, ArcGIS is required.

• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills are required; must be considered a self-starter.
