About the opportunity
With our power business in New Zealand growing and a local team that isexcelling in providing innovative electrical design solutions to our clients,we are actively seeking a Protection Design Engineer to be based inour Auckland office. The Protection Design Engineer will be working as part ofa team that provides transmission (and distribution) substation secondaryprotection & control detailed designs and settings to clients in the powergeneration, transmission, distribution, and industrial HV sectors.

To excel in this role, you will need the following skills andexperience:
Bachelor degree in electrical engineering, or equivalent degree able to be accredited with Institute of Professional Engineers NZ.
Intermediate level of experience preferred in protection design, grading and settings
Strong range of broad technical competency as well as expertise in power systems, protection and secondary systems.
Understanding of New Zealand T&D utility work practices (or equivalent) desirable.
Strong work ethic, responsive attitude, professional rigour and ability to ensure projects are delivered on time, to budget and program.
