Your Impact
Our Jacobs Water Team is working with clients to deliver a wide range of projects across the water sector that improve New Zealand's water security and protect our environment. This includes some of the largest and most critical water infrastructure projects in New Zealand including Auckland's $1.2B Central Interceptor Project. In our team, you could be working on tunnels, high tech water treatment plants and major pumping stations or restoring wetlands and waterways and creating new habitats.
We are inviting applicants who have relevant industry experience in the 3 Waters sector, preferably civil focused, who have an eye for detail and enjoy collaborating as a global team to join our team in NZ.
As a Senior Lead Design Coordinator you will support the NZ Water & Wastewater Infrastructure Section with the delivery of projects through leading our drafting delivery.
In this role you will collaborate with our local water design and drafting teams as well as our Global Integrated Delivery (GID) teams in India and Manila. The role also includes an on the tools approach with setting up and preparing drafting deliverables, as well as reviewing the GID delivered work to ensure it meets our company and any client specific standards.
Some key focus areas for this role:
Using design software in 2D, 3D and utilising BIM to produce water and wastewater infrastructure models and drawings
Assisting in the forward planning of drafting resource needs and workloads.
Collaborating with our GID teams
Supporting engineers with the production of drawing deliverables such as pipeline network design, ground and utilities modelling
Overseeing the life cycle of the model and drawing deliverables using our GID teams
Reviewing the work of and guiding less experienced designers
Complying with company, client and industry procedures and standards
Here’s What You’ll Need:
To be successful in this role you should be able to demonstrate capability in the following areas:
Qualified CAD technician with professional recognition
Experience on a range of water and wastewater infrastructure projects
Experience coordinating drafting work with local project teams and global delivery centres
Experience in Water pipeline and plant projects to a detailed design level
Proficient with the use of AutoCAD and Civil 3D
Proven track record of leading multidiscipline projects with model and drawing deliverables
Proven track record with multidisciplinary design integration.
Displays technical knowledge and is exemplar in quality delivery and review processes
A keen eye for detail and a drive to for strive to produce consistent deliverables to a high standard
Enjoys collaborating with others and is an excellent communicator
A clear desire to work in the water space
