Water issues are becoming increasingly prominent as we struggle with disparity between water availability and demands, water pollution, and competition for limited water resources. At Jacobs, we recognize these challenges and our engineers, scientists, and planners are working together with clients to find the right solutions to their water challenges.

The Auckland water team has an exciting pipeline of work, we are delivering New Zealand’s largest water infrastructure project, the $1.2b Central Interceptor project along with many other projects for different clients. As Australia and New Zealand are part of the same business unit, we collaborate with our Australian peers for both learning and project work. Due to current business opportunities, we are looking to appoint a Senior Process Engineer to join our fast-growing Water team for our Auckland and New Zealand operations. This is an opportunity to join a dedicated and high-performing team of water professionals to deliver a range of significant projects for both public and private sector clients both locally and nationally.

About the Role:

The purpose of this role is to complete Process Design of various water and wastewater infrastructure projects in addition to performing project management duties for treatment projects where required. Further duties will involve developing and mentoring junior staff and assisting in the growth of the water operation by developing and fostering good client relationships.

This role will involve:

Management and delivery of Process Water Infrastructure Designs, including; options assessment, concept design development, reporting, detailed design and construction phases to agreed budgets and schedules.

Ability to lead, supervise and mentor a project team (water infrastructure) including graduate and intermediate engineers and BIM/GID/CAD staff.

Effective communicator able to represent Jacobs and manage Client relationships.

Working collaboratively with a team including on large-scale multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects and programs.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

Bachelor’s Degree in relevant Engineering discipline or equivalent.

Approx 4+ years’ experience in the Water industry and consultancy environment

Good previous experience within a process engineering environment.

Good knowledge of relevant industry related New Zealand Standards and codes.

Understanding of safety in design practices and processes.

Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively.
