Jacobs Hydraulic Modeler in Austin, Texas

As a career-level Civil Engineer focusing on hydraulic modeling, you will assist in the planning, design, and construction of municipal infrastructure projects for a wide variety of projects within the water/ wastewater, land development, and/or drainage teams. You will be based in the greater Central Texas region out of the Austin or Houston office and will support both local and regional projects.

As a key member of our water team, you'll be involved in data collection, analysis, calibration, transient analyses, design, and application of hydraulic models to water distribution systems; wastewater conveyance systems; pump systems; and reservoirs. Other responsibilities will include mentoring less experienced staff, preparing reports, interacting with existing and perspective clients, and providing support to business development efforts.

This position will be classified as modified full time, averaging between 21-39 hours per week, and paid on an hourly basis.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, or a related engineering field

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license

  • At least seven years’ experience in developing hydraulic models with various software (e.g. Bentley WaterGEMS/HAMMER and SewerGEMS; PCSWMM; Innovyze InfoWater, etc.), including model calibration (steady state and extended period simulation projects) and scenario development

  • Experience with ArcGIS and ArcMap

Ideally, You’ll Also Have:

  • Master's degree in Environmental or Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline

  • Experience with AutoCAD software

  • Advanced capabilities with MS Excel and databases
