This SCADA Control System Programmer opportunity is for the Austin, Texas office and will provide you the chance to work on exciting municipal and industrial projects. Our SCADA services group offers a comprehensive suite of products and services. We are a full-service provider of systems automation services that span the full life cycle of SCADA implementation, from conceptual planning, design, configuration, installation, testing, startup, and post commissioning services.
Each day you will be an important part of the team as you complete a variety of technical tasks in the design and operation of SCADA systems for water / wastewater treatment facilities. You should be able to think on your feet, work well independently and in a team environment, and multi-task effectively. Our work frequently requires strong technical skills as well as excellent communication skills. You should be a self-motivated professional with exposure to PLC and HMI programming and have a desire to grow personally as well as professionally with each new SCADA project.
Effectively communicate with clients
Provide PLC and HMI programming support for water and wastewater clients, primarily supporting the Central Texas municipal market. Work will be conducted in Jacobs offices and at client sites.
Utilize and develop HMI and PLC databases; develop HMI graphics and PLC code.
Work as part of a team to evaluate, select and apply standard engineering techniques and procedures.
Conduct site testing.
Display strong communication and interpersonal skills and be able to work in a fast-paced team environment.
Travel as needed to support projects through Texas and surrounding areas.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
A two-year Associates degree in Instrumentation & Controls or Programming or equivalent is required.
Experience with water/ wastewater treatment (distribution & collection)
A minimum of two years’ experience with development, programming and design of PLC’s and SCADA systems
Ideally, you'll also have:
