As a vital member of our South Texas Bridge Team, you’ll have the opportunity to work on a variety of transportation projects throughout the Southwest. Our transportation projects include precast concrete girder bridges, steel bridges, light rail bridges, high-speed rail bridges, bridge widenings, rehabilitations, load ratings, and other transportation structures. Working with a team of technicians and engineers, you’ll work to solve problems and challenges in a team environment where everyone is valued. As a Senior Bridge Engineer , you will provide technical expertise and lead a team in completing bridge and transportation structure design and construction projects. As a self-motivated professional, you will lead bridge projects of various sizes and complexity, support and mentor junior engineers, and help win new work.

Our Senior Bridge Engineers:

· Lead successful delivery of quality projects from conceptual design through preliminary, intermediate, and final design phases to construction

· Develop specifications, cost estimates, and prepare final bid packages

· Manage on-call contracts and sub-consultants

· Identify creative and innovative bridge engineering solutions based on client, project, and site constraints

· Provide technical guidance, oversight, and perform quality reviews

· Train, direct, and mentor junior engineers

· Coordinate project milestones and workload with other Senior Bridge Engineers

· Assist in project pursuits to win work, coordinating with client account management leads

· Assist in business development and proposal efforts

· Maintain and/or develop relationships with new and existing clients to determine their needs and manage expectations

Here’s what you’ll need :

· Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering

· PE registration in Texas

· At least 10 years’ experience, predominantly in bridge design and construction.

· Significant experience on large, multidisciplinary bridge design projects

· Project management and task order management experience

· Proficient with applicable design software: Leap Bridge, PGSUPER, BGS, WINCORE, Microstation, OpenRoads Designer etc.

· Adhere to applicable deign codes and guidelines

o AASHTO LRFD, TxDOT Bridge Design Manual, TxDOT Geotechnical Manual

o TxDOT Bridge Information on design as outlined on TxDOT website

· Be familiar with all bridge plans and standards required in plan set

· Be familiar with structural items in TxDOT Standard Specification for Construction

Ideally, You’ll Also Have:

· Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering

· Existing relationships with DOT and/or other relevant agencies

· Alternative delivery project experience including Design-Build (DB) and Construction Manager/General Contractor (CM/GC)
