As a Structural Engineering Manager, you will have direct supervisory responsibilities for a team of 20-60 Structural Engineering Professionals (Engineers, Engineers in Training, and Interns). Your two primary responsibilities are to develop, take care of and retain the people on your team; and to ensure our projects are delivered on time with high quality.

You will need strong communication and interpersonal skills as you work closely with your Structural team, project managers, and a wide variety of other team members. It is expected that you have a solid foundation in the fundamentals of Structural Engineering, knowledge of multiple subject areas, experience with US building codes including seismic provisions, understand how Structural design integrates with and impacts other disciplines, and understand business trends and industry issues and challenges.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver training

  • Facilitate technical guidance, coaching, and mentorship

  • Ensure Our Projects are Delivered On-time and with High Quality

  • Assign staff to projects to meet the project staffing needs

  • In collaboration with the Global Structural Department Manager, coordinate with other business units and design centers to balance workload across the company (either find resources when we need them, or share resources when we have resources available)

  • Recruit, interview, make hiring decisions, and onboard new Structural Engineers

  • Provide technical or leadership assistance to projects when high profile issues arise

  • Align Best Practices and Subject Matter Experts (SME’s) with the projects

  • Be proactive in advancing workflows, systems, and tools within the Structural discipline. Embrace emerging technologies

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

  • Depending on your home location, this position may require you to either work in the local office or from your home office. If you work in your home office, you will need to ensure you have a reliable, high speed internet connection.

  • This position may require to periodically travel to other offices to meet members of your team.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering, with an emphasis in Structural Engineering

  • Professional Engineer License (PE)

  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in Structural engineering

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills

  • Experience leading teams of people

  • US Citizen or permanent residence

Preferred Qualifications

  • MS degree in Civil or Structural Engineering

  • Structural Engineer License (SE)

  • Experience as a supervisor of people

  • Experience in Semi-conductor industrial or general industrial facilities
