Jacobs Groundwater Treatment Plant Operator- Bainbridge Island in Bainbridge Island, Washington

As an Operator, you’ll join a collaborative team ensuring that our clients can deliver their services - uninterrupted. Based on Bainbridge Island, you’ll have the opportunity to perform a variety of tasks in the operation and maintenance of a groundwater treatment plant including operation of systems (both onsite and remotely), collection of environmental data, and quality control testing. You’ll contribute to the success of our program with efficient preventive maintenance and effective solutions to complex challenges that may arise in the facility. You’ll control flow through the system, oversee separation of oil from water, observe variations in operating conditions, and interpret meter and gauge readings. You’ll also collect samples, maintain shift logs, and perform other duties as required. You will receive training on the specifics of this plant with the expectation of becoming a lead operator. Most importantly, you’ll take action to ensure the safety, health and well-being of you and your team.

Here's What You'll Need:

  • Experience in operating water/wastewater treatment plants

  • Basic understanding of computer software including Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to enter data into a maintenance management system

  • Located on or willing to relocate to the Kitsap peninsula

  • A valid driver’s license with no major infractions

Ideally, you’ll also have:

  • A current, or working towards obtaining, an intermediate level water/wastewater treatment certification

  • Basic familiarity of the principles and practices of water/wastewater treatment plant operations, valves, pumps, and motors

  • Current OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER Training

  • Current Confined Space Entry Training Safe work practices
