Jacobs Entry-Level Construction Health Safety Environmental Professional FY2025 in Baltimore, Maryland

At Jacobs, we’re transforming intangible ideas into innovative solutions designing the future - today. We are searching for Health & Safety Specialists, Engineers, and Interns to address worker safety as early in the cost-influence curve as possible, through design phase influence.

Working alongside safety and engineering professionals you will be party to the process of integrating HSE early into a project’s cost influence curve - working to ensure HSE better influences our Design, Sales and Procurements processes, to set projects up for success. Field related HSE responsibilities such as how to assess (HSE) qualified contractors prior to award, what it takes to setup and mobilize a project site, team, and logistics program successfully, how to prepare new vendors to work safely at our projects and assimilate and contribute to our BeyondZero Culture, and how to manage and support them in the safe delivery of quality projects to our clients.

Many of our H&S positions require on site/ field work and with those field experiences where risk assessed and mitigation strategies to comply with OSHA and Jacobs/site requirements provided. Interaction, and problem solving with a cross section of construction site personnel from Jacobs engineering and construction team members, subcontractor foremen and craft, as well as owners reps to be anticipated.

Qualifications -

  • Full-time permanent positions require a bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Environmental Engineering, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or other related majors with Environmental Health and Safety Engineering, construction site safety and/or a risk mitigation background

  • Internship positions require current enrollment in a degree seeking program in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Chemical or Environmental Engineering or another closely related field of study as a rising senior or advanced degree program

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and Powerpoint)

Ideally you will also have:

  • Previous experience in a H&S role (internship or full-time)
