We are looking for a driven and passionate Highway Engineer with experience to support our transportation team in Maryland. You will have the chance to work on exciting large-scale transportation projects and utilize your design expertise to serve as a Highway Engineer. As a Highway Engineer you will support project teams by delivering design solutions, managing design tasks, and assisting with client coordination. Project opportunities may include highway interchange design, intersection design, shared-use path design, roadway reconstruction and/or rehabilitation, and transportation related civil-site design.

You’ll work with the best Engineers and Project Managers in the business, as well as gain experience working directly with our clients. You will grow professionally with the opportunity to coordinate with all complimentary disciplines (drainage, structures, traffic, public outreach, and environmental).

When you join us as a Highway Engineer you’ll design and prepare plans, specifications, and cost estimates as well as perform highway and civil design tasks under the supervision of the Project Manager.

You’ll have the opportunity to utilize your skillsets to develop innovative design solutions, create roadway corridor 3D models and develop horizontal and vertical geometry. We’ll ask you to communicate effectively with team members, clients, and other agencies, participate in quality control/quality assurance activities and ensure project deadlines are met.

The base salary range for this position is $86,000 to $112,875. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering

  • Licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE) in MD

  • Minimum 4 years of professional project experience associated with transportation projects

  • Proficiency and prior experience using MicroStation, OpenRoads, and/or InRoads

  • Working knowledge of federal and state design guidelines (MDOT preferred)
