Due to further project awards, Jacobs are actively recruiting Electrical Inspectors to join an already established team for long term roles in the Utilities Sector.

Ideally the candidates will be based in the Humberside, Hull, Goole, York or Beverly or surrounding area’s due to the geographical location of the work.

Overview

The job of Electrical Inspector involves working as part of a dedicated team to complete the inspection and testing of low voltage electrical installation work within given time scales. This will primarily be achieved during normal working hours but there may on occasion be a requirement to work away or out of hours dependent upon the type of installation and access hours dictated by the client.

The Electrical Inspector will work as part of a team, either as the Electrical Lead Inspector or Electrical inspector to ensure that a professional Inspection & Testing of Fixed Electrical Systems to ensure Compliance on behalf of the client is delivered in a safe and timely manner.

The Electrical Inspector & Tester will report directly to the Framework Manager, Electrical Superintendent, Site Co-ordinator, Designer or Verification / Remedial works Engineers as appropriate. Responsible for prioritising and managing own workload and others in the team as required and in line with weekly lookahead, site authorisations and handovers in place at the time of executing the works.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

The Role

A clear understanding of all types of Electrical installations and qualified to the current Edition of IET BS.7671, City & Guilds 2391 and / or 2394 & 5 Inspection and Testing of Electrical Installations, as well as familiarisation with the Water or Gas Industry, a proven ability to work in a safe manner in accordance with Jacobs Field Services Inspection and Testing policies and procedures and in accordance with current HSE legislation.

A requirement for the role is the ability and dedication to maintain awareness and keep up to date with current legislation, undertaking any training as required to maintain the competence associated with the high standards expected of the Electrical Inspector.

Minimum Qualifications Required

Electrical Inspection & Testing Trained Engineer:

• City and Guilds Course Part 1 Electrical Installations

• City and Guilds Course Part 2 Electrical Installations

• City and Guilds Course NVQ Level 3

• City and Guilds 2382­10 IET Wiring Regulations 18th Edition

• City and Guilds 2391 and / or 2394 & 5

Personal Attributes

• Be able to make the right decisions at the right time.

• Keep management team informed at all times of issues, discrepancies and assumptions made whilst carrying out the duties consummate with the role.

• Ability to work well as part of a team

• Full driving licence

• Ability to self-motivate and achieve set targets

• An awareness of environmental issues, and COSHH

• Good planning, organisational and self-management skills

• Customer liaison skills

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
