Our office in Basel has a strong focus on life science industries mainly serving pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies.

Our contribution ranges from early feasibility studies to modifications of existing facilities and production lines up to the realization of large green field projects.

The Senior CQV Engineer reports to the discipline manager and is accountable to coordinate on the assigned project junior CQV resources, deliverables and activities from the validation approach definition, design review, turn-over systems definition, and C&Q activities at site.

Key role responsibilities:

  • Project management principles with extension of CQV project activities, including project reporting to Jacobs and Clients PM

  • Responsible for the systems hand-over to the Client

  • Experience of training and mentoring junior staff members

  • Contractors and Vendors management and coordination

  • Responsible for the continuous improvement of the C&Q activities in line with current guidelines and standards (ISPE and ASTM E2500)

  • Preparation/Review of Validation and Commissioning Master Plan, project procedures, commissioning and qualification protocols (SAT/commissioning, IQ and OQ)

  • Support the Design Review (DR) process and coordinate the process and GMP Risk Assessment (FMEA)

  • Direct or advise Client's staff with regard to correct pre-commissioning, Commissioning and Qualification activities

  • Investigate technical issues with assistance from Jacobs engineers and/or suppliers

  • Review and follow-up the technical documentation from the early design phase in order to align it with GMP and C&Q requirements

  • Ensure that site project execution is undertaken in compliance with company and department procedures and safety standards are maintained

  • Review performance progress

  • Organize and review the daily activities of other CQV Engineers assigned to the project

  • Prepare the final report for the Final Handover to the Client

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • Degree or equivalent in an engineering related discipline

  • Engineer with 7+ years of experience in commissioning and qualification activities for industrial or pharmaceutical facilities

  • Fluent German and English language knowledge are a must. Knowledge of French language is a plus

  • Strong leadership and ability to work as part of a team, liaising directly with client and other project team members

  • Strong experience with Validation Master Plan, Commissioning Master Plan, project procedures and commissioning and qualification protocols (SAT/Commissioning, IQ and OQ)

  • Be familiar with the Mechanical Completion procedure and Construction scope of work (Walkdown, system acceptance, punch list and follow up)

  • Previous experience as manager/leader of C&Q team is a plus

  • Familiar with GxP, ISPE and ASTM E2500

  • Bid evaluation experience

  • Previous experience with large international projects
