Position Summary

  • Consults with mechanical engineers and managers on technical problems, staffing requirements, effort-hour estimates, and schedule issues in relation to commitments for project deliverables

  • Assists with assigning mechanical task force engineers to project teams, ensuring the best utilization of their talents and skill sets for the specific project requirements

  • Assists with recruiting of mechanical engineering personnel, including rotating equipment, heat transfer, pressure vessels, and material handling specialties

  • Monitors progress and performance of mechanical personnel and assures all quality standards are maintained

  • Demonstrates customer focus in all actions

  • Reviews the effort-hour estimates for Phase 3 and 4 with the section manager and submits to the mechanical department manager for review and signature

  • Establishes and maintains a set of work instructions, procedures, specifications, and technical guidelines relative to the mechanical section

  • Actively assists with monitoring project staffing requirements to align with project needs

  • Organizes and facilitates section meetings

  • Provides consultation and guidance to department personnel on how to accomplish their goals

  • Contributes to the training of mechanical personnel

Qualifications

  • BS or MS in mechanical or chemical engineering

  • PE license preferred

  • 10 years of total experience required

  • 5 years of oil & gas and/or chemical plant EPC experience

  • Exhibits leadership traits and abilities

  • Demonstrates a broad technical knowledge of engineering, and project execution

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Other Essential Functions:

  • Keen safety awareness

  • Able to perform job walks wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) in an operating facility

  • May require travel to national and international jobsites and manufacturing locations
