We offer expertise across all core engineering, construction management, architecture, and specialty aviation disciplines. We are seeking individuals to join a dynamic and experienced team.
In this role, the Civil Engineering project manager will lead civil and environmental engineering tasks, provide excellent client service, manage the quality of deliverables, and perform in a team environment. This role supports our growing New England and nationwide aviation practice. Such projects include, and are not limited to airfield improvements, land/site development, and other transportation tasks.
Join us, and you'll:
• Focus on the aviation market at general aviation and small/medium hub airports,
• Manage and lead the ongoing progress of a project, including the coordination of the project with the client, subconsultants, and other outside agencies as needed.
• Conceptualize the initial civil design approach for major phases of land/site development, airfield improvements, related projects, and have overall responsibility for the civil engineering work.
• Coordinate with different disciplines of engineering when needed to provide a seamless constructable project with owner and agency input,
• Use advanced techniques to modify and extend civil engineering theories, precepts and practices.
• Resolve a variety of complex problems, (i.e. conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials, difficult coordination requirements) and develop resilient solutions.
• Build client business opportunities and support project proposal teams.
• Supervise design tasks, and drive the ongoing progress of a project, including the coordination of the project with the client, City, State, and County officials, and other outside agencies as needed.
• Lead, coordinate and review the work of less experienced engineers and/or technical support personnel assigned to the project.
• Participate in contract bidding and administration; periodically observe project construction on site.
• Four-year degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE or equivalent)
• Ability to obtain Professional Engineering (PE) certification in New Hampshire, Massachusetts or Maine (or ability to gain reciprocity) within 6 months
• Substantial professional years experience as a designer for aviation projects, with airfield civil engineering experience strongly preferred
• Experience working with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Bluebeam and Microsoft Office Suite of tools and work products is required
• Experience with the development of reports, plans and specifications using FAA, UFC, or ICAO criteria is preferred
• Ability to manage staff and maintain work for deliverable deadlines.
