When it comes to environmental consulting, we are focused on challenging today and re-inventing tomorrow. As our compliance and permitting work continues to grow, we have an immediate need for an intermediate-level or senior-level Environmental Engineer or Scientist to lead or support the development and implementation of air quality compliance, permitting, dispersion modeling and chemical transport modeling while developing innovative solutions for our clients. In addition to developing emission inventories, preparing technical deliverables to clients and agencies, an ideal candidate would have dispersion modeling experience, which may include modeling programs such as AERSCREEN, AERMOD, HARP2, CALPUFF and/or photochemical grid modeling. Programming experience with fortran, R-Code, or Python is a plus.
Based in the Pacific Northwest, you’ll have the opportunity to support air quality multi-media compliance, permitting, dispersion modeling and chemical transport modeling. You’ll have the opportunity to work with and mentor junior staff, other multi-media environmental projects, regulatory strategy, compliance and permitting. We have a long-term need to support various compliance projects for private and public sector, and internal and external clients. Here’s What You’ll Need:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or other related field from a U.S. accredited college or university.
• Environmental compliance multi-media experience, with an emphasis on air quality permitting and modeling
Proficiency developing modeling inputs for air dispersion models including AERMOD
• Experience navigating modeling requirements for permitting and compliance and other air dispersion needs
• Experience developing reports and technical memorandums for private and public sector clients including confidential clients
Ideally, You’ll Also Have:
• Ability to drive projects to completion on time and on budget
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to mentor and train junior staff
• Experience programing in R, Python or Mathlab and databases
• Experience preparing inputs and processing outputs for SMOKE-CMAQ/chemical transport modeling or other emission models such as MEGAN, and air quality models and prognostic models like WRF
• Experience in the use of GIS tools
