Your Impact:

In this role, as a Design Engineer , you’ll assist more experienced engineers by performing the many aspects of civil engineering design and calculations. You’ll will work on a variety of projects pertaining to transportation. Transportation Projects range from Highway improvement Design Build Projects to Bus Rapid Transit Projects or City Street improvements. You’ll have the flexibility to have a mix of working from home and in our Bellevue office, if desired.

  • Prepares design elements and design plans for highway/roadway civil design.

  • Works for team members to create roadway plans in CADD

  • Create design calculations and back up documentation

  • Provide quantity calculations and project cost estimating

  • Research standards and specifications and works with City, State, County, and Federal manuals

  • Research design options and documents findings for Project Engineers and/or Project Managers

  • Work within a team on multiple projects

  • Assist with other duties assigned by Project Engineers and/or Project Managers

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering

  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate

  • Familiar with MS Office 365 projects (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Team Player

Ideally, you’ll also have:

  • Up to 4 years of previous engineering design experience on transportation projects

  • Previous engineering design experience on transportation, and/or land development projects

  • Highway/roadway design experience and/or

  • Bus Rapid Transit or Light Rail Project design experience and/or

  • Washington State Department of Transportation design build experience

  • Experience with design software including Microstation/InRoads and/or AutoCAD/ Civil 3D
