Performs work involving the application of all conventional aspects of civil engineering to the functional area of the assignment. Exercises judgment in the independent evaluation, selection and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria. Position is located in Bellevue, WA and relocation assistance is available.
Roadway Design Lead for Municipal projects including the design and review of InRoads models.
Designs/reviews plans, schedules and prepares or reviews technical specifications, contract documents, and estimates.
Leads the roadway/civil design and ongoing progress of a project, including the coordination of the project with City, State, and County officials, and other outside agencies.
Resolves a variety of complex problems, (i.e. conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials, difficult coordination requirements).
Serves as a liaison between clients and agencies, subconsultants, and design teams.
Mentors less experienced engineers and/or technical support personnel assigned to the project.
Performs other duties assigned by the Project Manager
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering is required
Registration as a Professional Engineer is required, Washington PE registration preferred
Minimum of 8 years of progressive roadway/highway design experience is required including performing/leading design of local arterial streets, intersections, ADA pedestrian facilities design, channelization, signing, maintenance of traffic, traffic control design, storm drainage design, and utility coordination is required
Working knowledge with local-city, AASHTO, MUTCD, ADA and WSDOT design standards as required
At least 8 years of experience with Microstation, InRoads is preferred
AutoCAD and Civil 3D a plusTechnical ability to lead the roadway design and create design (PS&E) submittal packages is required
Ability to coordinate all phases of a project is required
Client experience/focus on local Puget Sound-area Roadways/Highways required (Preferred at least 8 years of experience)
Proficient modeling highways/roadways in InRoads using alignments and templates to create roadway models is required
ProjectWise experience is preferred
Familiar with MS Office projects (Word, Excel, Project) is required
