About the opportunity:
Jacobs are looking to recruit a NDT Consultant. This is an excellent opportunity for a suitable individual to provide inspection design and assessment to support clients in their application of effective NDT on plant. The inspection team has specific strengths in inspection research and development, data collection and analysis, inspection qualification, inspection modelling, and site implementation.
The successful candidate will have good engineering knowledge and experience of working in the nuclear power generation or equivalent safety critical industry.
Managing and contributing to projects involving the experimental and theoretical assessment of inspection techniques, inspection design and procedure development.
Analysing problems, discussing and developing solutions with colleagues and the customer.
Liaising with external suppliers.
Delivering work to time, cost and quality to meet customer expectations.
Checking and verifying the work of colleagues.
Assisting with the development and production of contract proposals and bids
Producing technical reports, inspection procedures, capability statements and technical justifications.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
A degree or equivalent in a relevant subject, e.g. Materials Science, Engineering, Physics.
Experience of working in the nuclear power generation or equivalent safety critical industry.
Knowledge and practical experience of NDE techniques and their theoretical basis.
Good analytical skills and the ability to interpret a variety of technical and financial information, distilling and conveying key information.
A willingness to spend a proportion of the time working on client sites (not expected to be significant).
For the successful candidate, security clearance to work on defence-related projects will need to be acquired as part of the joining process.
The ability to utilise practical skills and knowledge and to convert theoretical concepts into practical applications, to assist in the resolution of technically complex problems.
While the role is full-time, we support flexible working, and will welcome applications from those wishing to work part-time.
Post graduate experience.
Experience of dealing directly with clients, showing a proactive approach to customer interactions.
Experience of supervising and checking the work of colleagues against specified procedures.
Coding ability and awareness of digital technologies and Industry 4.0
