About the Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for a Project Control – Planner/ Scheduler to join our Decommissioning and Regeneration business. This role will be based in our Birchwood office in Warrington.

The project controls team are an integral part of Jacobs, providing direct support to Project Managers and multi-disciplinary engineering teams across a range of diverse and complex programmes. We are currently recruiting for a Planner to join our Decommissioning and Regeneration business. This role will be based either in our Birchwood office in Warrington, but there will be a need for periodic visits to client sites, as projects require.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working within a multidiscipline project as part the Project Controls teams under the direction and leadership of the Project Manager, to establish, develop and maintain Project schedules / plans.

  • To comply with Jacobs & customer project controls procedures, processes, and systems to ensure that quality and consistency of data is maintained.

  • To contribute to improving the quality and performance of project control processes and systems.

  • To be responsible for the preparation of monthly cost reports, identifying critical areas, and providing trend analysis and early warnings to the Project Team and/or Project Services Function.

  • To identify schedule variances and develop the appropriate mitigation strategies for recommendation to the Project Team.

  • Monitor trends monthly, provide analysis to the Project Team and invoke the project change control procedure where required.

  • To be responsible for monthly and ad hoc reporting requirements, including management of monthly reports and reporting on behalf of the Project Team.

  • Prepare project schedules, including resource loading on behalf of the project teams and client.

  • Work with stakeholders to manage any interfaces between the Project Schedules.

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • Preparing comprehensive project schedules using Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.

  • Previous experience of working at Programme/Portfolio Level.

  • Preparation of resource and earned value utilisation reports.

  • Input to QSRA’s (Quantative Schedule Risk Analysis) and an understanding of the risk process.

  • Earned value metrics such as SPI (Schedule Performance Index), CPI (Cost Performance Index), Schedule Variance etc.

  • Change Control procedures and management.

  • Managing and retrieving information.
