About the Opportunity

Jacobs is currently recruiting Safety Case Engineers across all levels from entry to principal to join the Safety Case team. The role can be based at one of our locations in Warrington, Scrabster, or Westlakes, and other locations will also be considered. You will join a multi-disciplinary business that delivers a range of projects across the UK.

We routinely deliver an exciting mixture of consultancy and engineering projects from Front End Engineering Design through to challenging Engineering, Procurement, and Construction projects.

We utilise technology to help our clients overcome some of the most challenging problems and help deliver solutions that are fit for purpose, value adding and sustainable.

The role may require travel to other sites to facilitate efficient and effective delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Safety Case Engineer, you will also be responsible for implementing Safety Case Procedures and maintaining the required standards of technical quality. You will be supporting clients by providing Safety Case support through the full life cycle including:

  • Participating in hazard identification studies using appropriate identification techniques.

  • Supporting the preparation of suitable and sufficient qualitative and quantitative risk assessments.

  • Preparation of safety case documentation and reports.

  • Preparing safety case strategy reports.

  • Preparing technical reports.

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • Degree qualified or equivalent in a scientific or engineering discipline.

  • Good communication skills and ability to articulate information.

  • Experience in preparing technical reports.

  • Self-starter with a professional leadership approach and a technical background.

  • An ability to make good engineering judgement whilst acknowledging limitations of knowledge.

It would be advantageous to have one of more of the following:

  • Experience working in a high hazard/highly regulated industry.

  • Knowledge and experience in the development of safety case documentation in a highly regulated industry.

  • Ability to interface and liaise with key stakeholders.

  • For more senior roles, successful delivery of safety case deliverables on complex projects and development of junior staff.

  • Experience of utilising digital and data driven solutions in safety case development and delivery.
