About the Opportunity

Our Decommissioning and Regeneration Solutions team at Jacobs, located in Birchwood, Warrington, is looking for a Senior EC&I (Electrical, Control & Instrumentation) Engineer with specialized skills in telemetry design and remote monitoring. This role is critical to enhancing our capabilities in advanced monitoring systems for nuclear decommissioning and specialist engineering projects, ensuring high levels of safety and efficiency through innovative engineering solutions.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of advanced telemetry and remote monitoring systems for nuclear decommissioning projects.

  • Design, test, and optimize EC&I systems that meet project requirements and comply with safety and regulatory standards.

  • Collaborate with project teams to integrate telemetry solutions with existing decommissioning processes and systems.

  • Provide expert advice and technical leadership in the selection and application of EC&I technologies and methodologies.

  • Conduct research and stay updated on the latest trends and technologies in EC&I engineering, telemetry, and remote monitoring.

  • Mentor and guide junior engineers and technical staff, sharing knowledge and promoting best practices in EC&I engineering.

  • Work closely with stakeholders to ensure that telemetry and remote monitoring solutions align with project goals and customer expectations.

  • Manage EC&I project components, ensuring timely delivery, budget adherence, and quality standards.

  • Prepare and present technical reports, proposals, and presentations to internal and external audiences.

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • Proven experience as a Senior EC&I Engineer, with significant expertise in telemetry design and remote monitoring systems.

  • Knowledge of SCADA and telemetry systems and their use within industry.

  • A strong analytical mind, with the ability to solve complex engineering problems creatively and effectively.

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, capable of mentoring team members and collaborating effectively with a range of stakeholders.

  • Relevant HNC/D or degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field.

  • Professional registration (Chartered or working towards chartership)
