About the Opportunity:

The BEP EPC project will safely design and deliver a Plant and the works in accordance with the requirements of the contract to enable conditioning of wastes from the various donor plants,

The work will be carried out in line with the Employer’s needs and to the satisfaction of stakeholders in the BEP project.

The project is executed from a number of locations. Liaison will be required with all the Project team members in the offices in Stockton-On-Tees, Birchwood, Westlakes and Chorley.

The Senior Mechanical Engineer reports to the Substantiation Lead Engineer, and is responsible for the development/authoring of the Design Justification Reports to provide the design substantiation of the Mechanical SSCs identified within the BEP engineering schedule. The successful candidate support to Area design teams where required and will be responsible for production of documentation as well as checking the work of other engineers & designers.

  • Degree qualified or demonstrable equivalent underpinning knowledge & understanding.

  • Growth focused mindset with an aptitude for relationship building and teamwork.

  • Considerable experience of working within a highly regulated industry.

  • Prior experience in the development/authoring of design justification reports.

  • Detailed knoweldge of the design of mechanical handling plant and equipment.

  • Experience of Sellafield Ltd or other nuclear projects is preferred.
