About the Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for Senior Process Engineers to join our Decommissioning Projects business.

The Decommissioning business provides an exciting mixture of consultancy, engineering and project management support, along with delivery of challenging decommissioning related EPC projects, to major clients in the UK across both the civil nuclear and defence industries, including Dounreay, Sellafield Limited, Urenco and Magnox. Overseas, we are delivering similarly interesting and exciting projects across the globe including projects for clients in Central & Eastern Europe and Japan.

We are very proud to have supported these clients for many years, and our partnering arrangements will enable us to sustain and enhance this support in the long-term. We also deliver a number of projects for other private companies and academia needing decommissioning solutions.

You will support the Engineering Manager or Process lead with delivery of the project works and will be responsible for implementing Engineering Procedures and maintaining standards of technical quality.

Your responsibilities will be supporting various and diverse nuclear clients providing Front End Engineering Design through to full life cycle project requirements including:

  • Waste retrieval and treatment

  • POCO

  • Fuel and packaging

  • Technical assessment

  • Feasibility and Optioneering Studies.

  • Hazard Identification Studies.

  • Process Design Development.

  • Production and Checking of process deliverables including:

  • Process flow sheets,

  • PFDs / P&IDs,

  • Datasheets and underpinning calculations

  • Basis of Design,

  • Process Descriptions etc.

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • Degree qualified or equivalent (eg HNC/HND with significant experience) in engineering discipline with extensive design experience

  • Experienced Chartered Engineer or similar demonstrable experience

  • Self-starter with a professional leadership approach and a technical background

  • Proven experience within a nuclear or highly regulated environment.

  • Motivated team member with the ability to work to deadlines and communicate project progress

  • Good communication skills and ability to articulate information

  • Ability to interface and liaise with key client and internal stakeholders

  • To display a broad Process understanding in order to be able to undertake different projects in varied locations.
