The Jacobs Decommissioning & Regeneration Services team is expanding and the fantastic opportunity to join our vibrant team as a Senior Process Engineer is now open. The role is based out of our Birchwood, Warrington offices and offers a hybrid working arrangement & competitive salary based on skills and experience. The role provides an exciting mixture of consultancy, engineering, and project management support, along with delivery of challenging decommissioning related EPC projects, to major clients in the UK across both the civil nuclear and defence industries, including Dounreay, Sellafield Limited, Urenco and Nuclear Regeneration Services (NRS, formally Magnox & Dounreay). Overseas, we are delivering similarly interesting and exciting projects across the globe including projects for clients in Central & Eastern Europe and Japan. We also deliver a number of projects for other private companies and academia needing decommissioning solutions.

As a highly skilled Senior Process Engineer you will have the opportunity to deliver some of the most complex nuclear decommissioning projects on the planet, through the entire project lifecycle, including Concept, Front End Engineering Design, through to Detailed Design, Construction & Commissioning. The role supporting the project Engineering Managers & Process Lead developing process deliverables. In addition, we require a self-motivated individual to assist in developing and growing the process team to meet Jacobs growth targets and upcoming projects. Whilst nuclear experience is preferred, non-nuclear sector experience is acceptable, with the candidate able to bring experience of other engineering sectors and transferable process engineering skills into the nuclear sector.

As a Senior Process Engineer, you will :

  • Provide technical process guidance and expertise to a variety of projects, see below for examples of our current projects,

  • Ensure the generation & delivery of required process deliverables to a high standard & to achieve project deadlines,

  • Lead process projects/ technical work, supporting the Principal Process lead,

  • Co-ordinate with other engineering disciplines on the project to achieve project objectives,

  • Guide & mentor junior engineers.

  • Assist with project tenders and future work

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • Degree qualified or equivalent (e.g. HNC/HND with significant experience) in Process or Chemical Engineering with extensive design experience

  • Experienced Chartered Engineer with 5 years of or similar demonstrable experience

  • Proven experience within a nuclear or highly regulated environment

  • To display a broad Process understanding in order to be able to undertake different projects in varied locations.

  • Motivated team member with the ability to work to deadlines and communicate project progress
