We are looking for a Mid-Level Civil Engineer to join us and work on a variety of water/wastewater treatment, conveyance, and modeling projects. Each day, you will be an important team member as you participate in the design, coordination, and execution of projects for our clients. Our senior engineers are committed to strong mentorship and providing opportunities to work independently and with peers. You should be a self-motivated professional with a desire to grow personally as well as professionally with each project while delivering transformative projects for our clients, in our diverse and fast-paced office.

The employee will work alongside our local team and support senior level engineers and project managers to perform the following tasks:

  • Assist senior engineers on larger, complex projects, including task management.

  • Participate in and lead tasks to support and mentor junior staff.

  • Perform a wide variety of routine assignments which are clearly defined and require the application of standard design engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.

  • Independently evaluate the selection and/or modification of standard techniques, procedures, criteria, and systems to efficiently meet project goals.

  • Prepare planning documents, reports, studies, and calculations.

  • Prepare models, engineering specifications, data sheets, sketches, drawings and perform calculations in support of engineering activities.

  • Possess a positive attitude, are dependable and meet assigned project deadlines.

  • Effectively work with project teams with diverse technical skill sets and geographic locations.

  • Display strong communication and interpersonal skills and work in a fast-paced consulting environment.

  • Collaborate on and contribute to maintaining and building strong client relationships.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil/Environmental Engineering or related engineering field

  • Minimum 4 years of water engineering experience

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Ability to lead and work with multi-disciplinary teams on complex infrastructure projects

Ideally, You’ll Also Have

  • Master of Science in Civil/Environmental Engineering or related engineering field

  • Professional Engineer License in Alabama or ability to gain reciprocity

  • Previous professional experience with a consulting firm

  • Professional society involvement

  • Adept at interpersonal relationship building, conflict resolution, and participating in diverse teams
