The Rail and Geotechnical Business unit consists of over 875 people, with people located in virtually every office within the UK. The rail part of the business includes Network Rail, TfL and HS2 amongst its biggest clients, with the geotechnical business serving virtually every operating unit within BIAF as well as cross line of activities into the nuclear and mining sectors.

The Assistant Project Management role in Rail projects would include the following activities:

  • Supporting the Project Manager / Senior Project Manager in day to day project activities, for example, taking minutes, collating information and helping to manage the project team.

  • Be an advocate for Jacobs Beyond Zero Health and safety Culture. Involvement in H&S paperwork and site planning.

  • Be a key support in programme and reporting.

  • Be responsible for key tasks such as change control, risk management, budget management and maintain relevant documentation.

  • Uphold Jacobs processes and values.

  • Be a key client interface and Alliance member.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Knowledge of the Rail industry, with project experience.

  • Strong communication and organisation skills.

  • Drive and determination to meet deadlines and for project success.

Desirable:

  • Commercial/accounting experience

  • Project Management qualifications eg PRINCE2/APM
